The bus ride: the bus was a coach, we were very pleased about that. Really appropriate for such a long ride. Unfortunately, after 2 hours the air conditioner dripped and the condensation water from the ventilators was spilling away. This problem seemed to have been there for some time, because dark spots had already formed on the fabric. The trip took longer than expected
Altogether we were 24 hours on the road.
The tour guide: we would have a wonderful tour guide named Russia. Lots of humour, lots of info and full of passion. It explains everything, what costs how much, what is worth it and what not, how to treat intrusive salespeople and what you have to pay attention to. She took very good care of our group and looked after each individual equally well. With her the trip was a lot of fun and it was really worth it. She made up for the mistakes in the bus and the dampened atmosphere. Besides, her German was very good.
Cairo: a city that everyone who is in Egypt should see. It is worth it, even if the journey is so long. The sight of the pyramids is incredible and you can see how the worlds meet here. History meets the future, the modern meets the past, regardless of whether one looks at architecture or culture. The visit to the museum is somewhat short, but it is enough to see almost everything, to learn a lot and to marvel at a lot. But the short stay in the museum can be justified, because the day is very well planned, so that one can see a lot. At the end of the day you go to a perfume shop, it's the only shop you get into and at the end it was even very nice. You can buy something, but you don't have to. A single shop is quite okay and the owners of the shop had a lot of understanding, patience and were very reasonable in price.
